We received a large number of applications from bands who wanted to play at BrightFest 19, which is absolutely great. Unfortunately the day is not long enough to accommodate all.
As a result, we have had to make some tough decisions to allow for a bit of variety and to give bands with members from the village a slot.
So... here is the preliminary line-up for BrightFest 19!
|Start||End||Artist||About The Artist||Music Style||Links|
|13:00||13:05||Brightwell Primary School Choir||The children from Brightwell Primary School are opening BrightFest 19!||Choir|
|13:10||13:50||Port In A Storm||Port In A Storm are a five piece band from Oxfordshire. Our music is fun, mostly upbeat pop/rock with a bit of electronica thrown in. Although we play all our own songs they are generally very catchy pop with fun lyrics.||Pop / Rock|
|14:00||14:40||Gli Avanzi||Modern Jazz sextet offering a lively mix of latin, funk and post-bebop jazz music.||Jazz|
|14:50||15:30||Cutwater||Classic line-up of electric guitars, bass and drums playing original songs with influences ranging from shuffling 70s boogie, through Americana and to country rock.||Indie / Americana|
|15:40||16:20||Backstreet Noise||Backstreet Noise are an experienced 3-piece pop goes punk party band hailing from Oxfordshire. Since 2012 they’ve been playing gigs, weddings, functions, parties and festivals up and down the United Kingdom. Their exciting, extensive and ever expanding set list consists of a wide range of older and modern day songs ranging from George Michael to Rhianna, but always with an energetic twist. We can guarantee that there is something for EVERYONE!||The UK's ultimate pop goes punk experience|
|16:30||17:10||Fritz The Cat||Wallingford based covers band, playing not your normal pub covers, from band such as Radiohead, Bowie, Kasabian, the Killers, Kings of Leon, Glen Campbell (yes, you did read that correctly), Nina Simone, and whatever takes our fancy. Includes ex-members of The Brazilians, Local Radio and Big 500.||Pop / Rock|
|17:20||18:00||oTTo||A three piece Rock style band, composing and performing their original material. They have been together for two and a half years, performing regularly in the Oxford Music scene. Supporting artists like Ben Poole, The Phonics, and John Varity from Argent, including their own headline gig at the Oxford o2, they continue to write new material and perform it so be prepared for some of their familiar songs and to get hit with some new!||Rock / Originals|
|18:10||18:50||Stanley Moon Trio||The motto of this drums, bass, piano trio is to "always be on the verge of collapse". They like to keep it unpredictable and have been doing so at the Red Lion in Brightwell for 5 years now every month which is, on reflection, quite predicatble. They've become more of a collective than a trio so don't expect them to know each other. They recently tattood their private parts with pictures of Mark the Landlord in recognition of his immense contribution to the life of the village and their musical heritage.||Psychotic FunkyLatinJazz badgers on heat|
|19:00||19:40||Mo'Mojo||Mo'Mojo is a rock cover band formed in 2007 playing popular covers old and new with an added splash of mojo. We updated our line-up in 2017 (bass & drums), with a view to creating a more professional approach. We have played most venues and festivals in and around Oxfordshire and Berkshire, we have even supported Toyah Wilcox at ‘MantonFest ’17, but our spiritual home is the Jericho Tavern where we can often be seen rocking the famous venue to its core. We have an extensive list of songs in our repertoire, from the Stones and The Who right through to the Killers and Stereophonics, band members include three senior doctors and a professor... what can go wrong!||Classic Rock / Pop|
|19:50||20:30||The Shakedown Prophets||Oxfordshire-based with a strong local following, the band have played about 200 public gigs since the current line-up formed 5 years ago. They’re known for their eclectic mix of well-known and less well-known material, all delivered to ensure they get people’s hearts racing and feet stomping!||Blues / Rock|
